Paul DiPasquale is widely known for The Arthur Ashe Monument on Richmond’s Monument Avenue and for his 34 ft bronze statue of Neptune at Virginia Beach. His 20 Ft high Police Memorial to fallen officers also stands on the Virginia Beach ocean front. He as twice been a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome, and recently a resident at the International City of the Arts in Paris. He is a recipient of the ‘Commitment to Social Justice Award’ given by VCU’s School of Social Work. Currently a member of Richmond’s Public Art Commission, his other current and past board memberships include The Visual Art Center, The Black History Museum, and The Richmond Arts Council. Educated at U.Va, the Boston Architectural Center, and in the Master of Fine Arts/Sculpture program at VCU, he has been a full time artist since 1983.
