Gabriel A. Reich

Gabriel A. Reich is an Associate Professor of secondary history education at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Education. At VCU, he educates the next generation of secondary history teachers with a particular focus on helping secondary students learn to think historically. His research interests range from history assessment and assessment policy to historical consciousness and collective memory. Currently, he is working on a variety of projects focussed on how Americans remember the Civil War, and mobilize these memories to make sense of contemporary events.
