The NEH Summer Scholars will stay in VCU’s honors dormitory in single rooms with private bathrooms. All Summer Scholars will be on the same floor of the dormitory that also has common areas for reading or studying. We strongly encourage all NEH Summer Scholars to stay in this facility as it is centrally located and easily walkable to various locations on campus and restaurants. Only one person per room is allowed.
Check in is from 12-5pm on Sunday and check out is from 5-6pm on Friday or on Saturday morning, depending upon when you plan to leave.
The approximate cost including a registration fee, card access to the building, wifi access, cleaning fees, bed linens, pillow, towel, 2 mini refrigerators for the group, and lodging tax is:
$ 437.75 – 6-night stay (arrive Sunday – depart the following Saturday)
$ 375.95 – 5-night stay (arrive Sunday – depart the following Friday)

If NEH Summer Scholars prefer to stay in a hotel, the closest one with a VCU rate is the Linden Row Inn (www.lindenrowinn.com). The special VCU rate is currently $99/night, though they can increase that at any time, and you should mention that you are with VCU when you book your room. You need to contact them yourself and book your own room. This is walkable to campus, but allow at least 20 minutes.
Richmond is home to many restaurants and a variety of types of food.
